Acupuncture

Some our team provide western medical acupuncture including a technique called dry needling as a treatment modality which can be very effective for musculoskeletal problems. In conjunction with physiotherapy treatment, western acupuncture which involves the insertion of fine needles can be very helpful for muscle injuries, reducing pain, and reducing inflammation. Western medical acupuncture is an adaptation of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture using current knowledge of anatomy, physiology and pathology, and the principles of evidence based medicine. There has been significant scientific research into pain that has helped us understand that acupuncture causes the release of natural pain-killing and healing chemicals within our bodies. NB: we do not provide TCM acupuncture. We will not treat for smoking cessation, relaxation, or systemic problems.
