Frequently Asked Questions
How much does physiotherapy cost in Farnborough?
The first appointment with one of our specialist physiotherapists will cost £55 and this includes treatment. Follow-up sessions cost £50. If you wish to buy a pack of 6 follow-up sessions after your initial assessment, there is an option to prepay £270 therefore reducing the cost to £45 per treatment.
Do I need a referral from my doctor for physiotherapy?
If you are paying privately, you can see a physiotherapist without a referral. If you have private healthcare insurance, you will need a preauthorisation number before being seen so that your treatment is covered. If you are an NHS patient we will require a GP referral to be able to see you under the NHS.

Is physiotherapy treatment painful?
Treatment techniques that your physiotherapist may use work close to the area that is painful or injured; this will naturally be painful for a short time during and after your treatment. You may also feel a bit sore at first after doing prescribed physiotherapy exercises. This doesn’t mean the treatment and exercises are harmful; not exercising can actually make you more stiff and worsen your symptoms. Your physiotherapist will offer a person-centred approach to treatment and discuss everything with you in detail to ensure you are happy with the treatment plan and agree to proceed. If you have pain that doesn’t settle within a few days after your physiotherapy session or your condition worsens, please contact us via email: info@farnboroughphysio.co.uk
